Toxi, I saw this plant being used as a ground cover and photographed it last year. NoH2O and roshana mentioned using it in containers. It grows very fast and does not require much care. What I like too is that the color looks different according to the light shining on it during the day and the plant's actual color is different according to the amount of sunlight it receives. With full sun, it is very silvery and in less sun it is more green. Thanks for your comment.

I had one last year and left it outside, and it froze... things grows like crazy, I bought the one called "1,000,000 hearts" and I plan on taking it in this year

nice plant...

I have grown it for a couple of years, but not by itself...always trailing around between other plants. I like the effect of your whole pure basket of it. That reminds me, I need to take some cuttings for next summer.

ely, I am sorry that yours froze. I am glad you told us it did. I was not planning on taking mine inside when we expect freezing temperatures. The ones I first saw are in the ground at the San Antonio Botanical Garden and have been there for several years so I assumed that it does not freeze. Thanks for your comments.

Toxi, do yours freeze in the ground and not return in the spring?

Yes, they are dead if left in the ground here for the winter. I was hoping some volunteer seedlings might appear in the areas where I grew it, but no such luck. Pretty easy to take cuttings or layer if growing on the ground.

Thanks for the information. I took cuttings from one last year. They rooted and were doing very well until my big old dog knocked the pots over and I did not notice it until several had died.
