i have amaranthus -joseph's coat- red ,yellow leaves.. and love lies bleeding,
I have Early Splendor growing. Never looked for seeds, but I will. I love it and am watching it grow. They are georgeous. Hope I do get seeds and if so I would love to share.

I have Purple Amaranth, or Mexican Grain Amaranth (Amaranthus cruentus). I love it's purple stems and leaves and blooms (ok, actually they are more burgundy, but stunning nonetheless).

Beverly, are yours Amaranth? They don't look anything like the others posted. They all are beautiful. Yours looks almost like a dahlia, or a crinkely poinsetta. The others are pretty also.

Jeanette, yes, my plants are amaranthus. They are the Early Splendor variety. At least, that is what they are called in Texas. They do favor a poinsetta bloom. They vary so due to sun/shade.
Check in the plant data base and you will see under Early Splendor the same plant only taller. They get up to approximately 3 feet. Don't know that mine will have time to get that tall, but who knows.
