Saba Banana, Papaya Banana, Pawpaw Banana 'Saba' (Musa x paradisiaca)

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8a)

Where is this Saba growing at, what state/zone and how old are the TREES?

Hesperia, CA

Oookay....
I have Saba Banana Trees but they are no where that tall. Are there different types of Saba? The ones we have are the common ones eaten cooked in the Philippines. Then again it doesn't get cold in the Philippines like it does in L.A. maybe that's why?

Tampa, FL

This is the Philippine Saba...to my knowledge there is only one Saba (although I understand in the Philippines ,multiple species are referred to as Saba). Growing conditions significantly affect the height and girth....we have very rich organic soil with lots of rain..

Banana plants are not trees...but herbs..they are approximately 12 to 18 months old...

Hesperia, CA

I saw some of the pictures of the trunk and that's impressive for a banana plant. How old are the ones in the pictures?
