Hi everyone. My supervisor at Powell Gardens was gone on a field trip today so I got to stay home and do some much needed work in the yarden. Actually I intended to take the day off anyway. Shad and I worked all day on the blackberry/grape vine yards. Every year we vow to not let that area get all overgrown and weedy and every year it gets that way before time for picking blackberries. Then we spend a couple days working like Trojan's getting it all cleaned up in time to harvest the blackberries. Actually by the time we pick grapes it is somewhat of a weedpatch again but we get thru it. The black berries have tried to move over into the grape vine-successfully I might add-and every year we have to cut out a couple dozen blackberries so we can pick grapes without being shredded by the thorns.
The little goose is quite a clown. She 'protects' the little ducklings as tho they are her babies. The other day she took feathers out of one of the cornish cross chickens many times her size because the chicken got too close to the ducklings! This morning she followed Shad into the house and took a grand tour of that end of the house. What a character.
Shad made some jello/milk shakes for us and now he and I watching a recorded Animal Planet movie Little Heroes. We recorded it some time ago and have watched it a couple other times. It's on the line of Home Alone, only its the family's little dogs do all the rescuing. We really enjoy it.
We are so glad it isn't raining every day or night now. Lisa, how is it down there in your neck of the woods?
Have a good evening everyone.
