Hi, kipper. I didn't see this thread when you posted it, did the chrysalis turn into a butterfly?

I found a cat this morning looking for a place to morph. Here he is.

I just discovered this thread too, thanks to Paul's bump. Calalily, do you have an id for your cat?

Oh yeah, it's a gulf frit. They have been eating passifloras all summer! This one was eating Lady Margaret, but that vine is big enough that it won't hurt unless hundreds get on it.

Paulwhwest, boy did I forget about posting that. Yes, he did and the other 20 Gulf frits devoured my 2 passion vines and chryst out on the bench swing crossbar. Still have a few chryst sacks hanging on it still 3 months later. They stripped my two passion vines so I bought another to manualy transplant the late comers. Just a month ago I found a monarch cat on my milkweed but I haven't been able to find the chryst sack yet. I don't mind them eating me out of plants and vines since that is the whole reason I built the bed...all 75 feet long and four to six feet deep of nothing but native Texas butterfly / hummer and butterfly cat food plants. Yes I was able to supply my daughters science teacher with live material for the classroom.
