looking for: how to make butterbean soup

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

Years ago, when we were very poor and living in Florida,(I'm a born and raised Iowan) my roomate and I got some supplies from the Salvation army. One of them was dried butter beans. She made the most delicious soup! I know we didn't have any meat but non the less is was so delicious! She was raised in the South and worked magic with those beans! I will never forget that soup and how wonderful it was. Now I'm older and doing better financially and I still long for the recipie of that soup! Can anyone help me to find a recipie using butterbeans in a soup? I remember it being creamy and buttery. Maybe I was just starving and anything would have tasted great...Ha. : ) In any case, could you help me with my stroll down memory lane?
