I work for a veterinarian hospital in a very affluent part of Dallas. (not out in the country). Many times a year, we find kittens, as young as several days old, on our doorstep. Some people feel that if they release these domestic animals into the wild, that they will be able to survive. This is totally false. These are domesticated animals and have not a clue as to how to protect themselves from predators or the enviorment. I take many kittens in each year, raise them and adopt them all out to loving homes....with one strict stipulation...SPAY or NEUTER the kitten!!! This is the only way we will ever make a dent in the problem. If I am sure of who dumped these kittens, I also contact animal control and a citation/fine is issued. God Bless the little kittens...it is not their fault humans are so stupid. Thanks to all of you that take in these vulnerable creatures and give them a chance at a decent life.
