Re: Mammoth elephant ear bulbs

Lewisville, TX(Zone 8a)

I planted there bulbs about 6 month ago....the garden nursery (Calloway's) in Dallas, had them labled as "mammoth elephant ears" What do you think? I am just hoping that when we get our first freeze, that the bulbs will be safe and return bigger and better next year. They are next to a pool and will be heavily mulched to protect them. Anyone that can help me with my destroyed greenbelt situation..I posted the problem earlier today...Many thanks! See you all in Kentucky with my sister, "Floridian" (disregard the person and dog that got in the way of these beautiful plants..)

hi diva,
your bulbs will be fine. Mine freeze down and come back bigger and better every year.

We should be at the round up, I can't wait to meet you and see Stacy again!

Hi there!
We are neighbors and I used to live in Highland Village up until 10 years ago (on Tartan Trail in the neighborhood by Heritage and McCauliffe).
Your elephant ears will do great! I have several that come back every year and need to be divided soon.
I only just came across your thread but welcome, anyway!
Terrie
