Begonias

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

When I bought these pots they were already planted. I think these are angel wing begonias. They have really bloomed well this summer!

Here is one basket of my dragon leaf begonias. They are my favorite!

Pretty Trunnels! Dragon leaf huh? Do you think that is what mine are..instead of angel wings???

Looks like they may be, Marcy, but can't tell for sure by the picture. I think there are some called angel wings. The color is not so great in my picture but the flowers are a dark orangy red.

I got these at a local garden center

Oh, those are really pretty, Ownedbycats! Do you know the name of them?

Southern, NH(Zone 5b)

I'll have to check the tag - I got them at the start of summer. They are 4 different ones in the window boxes in the shed. This is the same box right after I planted them

And this is the other side

This is the best I can do for the after. You can only see one of them.

I'll try to run out before my daylily sale and get the tags - but the stuff on the bargan table goes quick...

Yes, Terrie, there are angel wing begonias...and I was thinking mine didn't exactly look like them.

Ownedbycats...yours are very pretty too!! And I love your name...I am "owned" by a cat too...lol!

I'm the proud slave to 4 cats (actually 3 - Sekhar claimed DH when she was a couple weeks old and only tolerates me)

The pink and the salmon are "nonstop" Tuberous Begonias; the apricot and the red are "illumination"

I've not seen those in our area.

Hey, Marcy. I found this thread that has a close up of angel wing.

Hey thanks Terrie! That's why they look different..no spots! But still the same kind of leaf...som must be angel wings.

I bet there are different kinds of angel wings, too.

This is an angel wing variety named "My Special Angel" that I have grown for 2 years & love dearly! I know I have to cut it back for the Winter, but it kills me to do it. It is really gorgeous this year!

JRush,
That is beautiful! Do you take it in the house to overwinter? Does it bloom in the house?

Beautiful pictures.

Terrie - I brought this in last year, & will do so again. I love this plant, with its spotted leaves & dainty flowers! It continued blooming in the house under florescent lights well into Winter. It does well in a bright window, too. The nursery where I purchased this, Logee's, has hundreds of Begonia varieties. Just amazing to see all the forms this plant can take!

Thanks! I'll add Logee's to my list.
