Delilah Is Back Home!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

As GW posted much earlier, our female Bengal cat, Delilah, managed to get out of the house nearly two months ago. Her brother, Tigger, was also an escapee but was captured in the front yard. DH and I didn't know that DeeDee was missing till that evening. We tried to find her and no luck. Tigger has been howling and carrying on since she left.

This afternoon a neighbor from across the street knocked and when DH answered the door, she said she had just gotten back from the animal shelter and that there was a cat there that looked exactly like Tigger and was screaming loudly. DH and I rushed to the shelter. It was 4:52 when we got there and it closes at 4:30, but tonight the office worker was doing some paperwork in the office and was running late.

DH was inside for such a long time that I went in also. He had a grin all across his face, as did the woman behind the counter. DeeDee was brought in day before yesterday by a man who knew she must be someone's pet. The office worker (a deputy animal warden) knew that DeeDee was either an Ocicat or a Bengal and had put our girl in a nice cage and put a sign on the door..........Hold for Owner. She knew someone was missing their four-pawed friend.

The vet can't see DeeDee till Monday so she is quaranteened on the screened-in back porch with a litter box, water and plenty of food. She used to be quite round but has lost weight. She ran past me and got in the house and saw Tigger and immediately ran around in the house with him. DH caught her and put her on the porch. She looks pretty good, considering the fact she was who-knows-where for almost two months, and we can't find any ticks or fleas on her. We just want to have her checked out before letting her live inside in order to protect Tigger and treat DeeDee for anything that might need it.

Sorry for the long post. DH and I have been praying since the little gal escaped that she would come home safely, and God answered. He cares so much for us and His creatures that he protected her and brought her back to us. Praise the Lord!!!!
