DMB (Donna's Monster Brug)

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Thank you Donna!
It's scent is similar of roses, it is a prolific bloomer and really lights up the night! If they won't let you name it, at least we can refer to it as DMB?

I have a question, with (all) the anthers as shown, this is typical of a Suaveolens?

My DMB didn't start out yellow. It started white white and stayed white.

Beautiful! I can't wait for mine to take off.

That is beautiful violabird!!! I wish someone would just send me a whole brug, in full bloom!!!

Vi, usually the anthers are all glued together on a suave. That is all I know about them. Could be that it has something else in it besides just suave.

Waaaah! I got this close to seeing and smelling DMB. I have to leave on a trip tomorrow and won't be back for a week. My 18yo has instructions to watch for bloom and sniff .

LOL Eileen. How good is he at describing scents ???

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

No good!! I called this morning and yes, it is blooming but 18yo claims it has no scent. I said to go back and smell tonight - perhaps it will be fragrant then? Good thing there were dozens of small buds on the plant, there will be plenty of sniffing for me when I get back home.

lol eileen! I hope you do too...just don't catch a cold between now and time you get back lol....

Mine had 2 little green, what looked like a catapillar, that made a hole right through the top of the bud then it came out the other end Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I think it was a baby hornworm....I'm having bad problems with those things...and they are GROSS

Hurry back home :) Post some pics too

I am using a Gardens Alive product called 'bioinsecticide' on the Brugs. It does not work on spider mites but nicely controls all the other foes. I got rid of the mites on DMB with the 3 in 1 systemic insecticide for roses. I am so psyched as DD says the DMB is loaded with blooms and buds and looks fantastic. Too bad I brought the camera with on vacation! Home Saturday night...

Welcome home Eileen! Let us know, and takes some pics!

Beautiful! I love the pure white's too! Look at the size of that baby, wow...I can't wait for my little buds to get bigger now! lol....DonnaB graciously shared a nice sized plant with me at the GARU!

Of course everything was done blooming when I got home, but another flush of buds is ready - will post pics in a few days, when they open. I fed DMB just before I left on my trip and it is loaded - must have been hungry!!

Eileen she will bloom again real soon. She is a very good bloomer and should keep blooming until you get a hard frost.
