Our vines are a tangled mess again and I need to know when and how to prune them back to a more manageble length. These are about 10-12 year old plants and have been severly pruned once about 3-4 years ago. That cost us the next year's crop so I don't want to repeat that mistake if I can avoid it. Or do you have to do that every few years to keep them under control?
I would also like to know what to use for fetilizer(either organic or commercial)to get the best production.
When and how to properly prune back grapes in mid-Missouri
The vintners around here prune their vines back to the trunk EVERY year leaflady. I need to find out more about this subject myself, so will read up and let you know.
You seem to be in quite a winter cold zone for grapes - they obviously don't mind :)
