Great slogan huh, but this is what happened this past two weeks. A neighbor in our park asked me if I would keep an eye on their place as they were going to be gone for a couple of weeks. I told them no problem and asked them what they were going to do with their kitty. Oh, we are taking her with us. I thought this a little odd but said nothing. A week and a half goes by and the girls grandmother called to ask how things were going. Fine I told her. Then she asked how the kitty was. I told her that they said they were taking here with them. Oh no, she said, they left her home. Oh my God, I went running over there to see what was going on wondering if I was going to find a dead kitty in their house. As I walked up the porch this poor little kitty came out from under the porch skinny as a rail. I ran back and got some food and water for it and it ate and ate and ate. I was just furious about this. Especially after I asked them what about kitty. We got the kitty in a cage and took it to the shelter but they didn't have any quarintine cages left so we had to bring her back. I figured she had made it this long so I would just keep a close eye on her and make sure she had food and water. Well, they got home yesterday and I really laid into her. She told me that they had told their grandmother that I had a key and I would be taking care of the kitten. I told her that I was very tempted to call the animal abuse hot line and report her. To top it all off they brought a dog back with them. I am going to keep a close eye on these people as they do not deserve to have any animals. I wish that they had to stay outside for a week and a half with no food except what they could scavenge. This just makes me sick to my stomach. There is no excuse for animal abuse. Not even stupidity. If they had half a brain between them they would be dangerous.
