Great picture. I'll bet I could sleep there in the evening, easy enough.

Makes me think of the scene from the Wizard of Oz....Gee, if you think about it, it could be brugs the Wicked Witch put in the field, too:

"And now, my beauties, something with poison in it, I think ... with poison in it, but attractive to the eye and soothing to the smell ... Ha ha heh heh heh heh! Poppies... poppies... Poppies will put them to sleep... Sleep... Now they'll sleep..."

gardenwife, I still don't know how to hyperlink, but you added something that I would love to be able to do. Can you tell me how to do that? If it is long, let me know and I'll give you me E-address and you can educate me. Thanks, George

Shoot, educate us all.

It was just too perfect!

Okay, here goes...Knowing someone had to have clips posted online from the Wizard of Oz, I searched Google for "Wizard of oz wav poppies" (without the quotes). FYI, .wav is one type of sound file, and that's usually the type little sound clips are done in.

I found the file at http://www.wavsource.com/movies/wizard2.htm , but the administrators request people download the files and post them on their own sites rather than linking to them directly on theirs.

To download the file, scrolled down until I found the poppies link and right-clicked it, choosing "save link as", and saved it to my hard drive.

I then uploaded it to a directory at my own website (whole other process known as FTP), then posted the hyperlink here to its location. I really should make a page of sound files and such so that I can have navigational links once a person's there. That won't be for a while, though.

Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to insert a hyperlink in a post: http://davesgarden.com/journal/j/viewentry/10202/

Hope that helps! :)
