she blends in rather well doesn't she. I think she has an egg sack close she is still there.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

She must be eating something(bugs), as big as she is. We haven't seen any here in over 30 years.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I haven't seen any here in about 5 years. They are such prehistoric looking creatures. That one is huge. Never checked to see what they do eat. Great pictures Amanda.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

That is unreal. I've never seen anything like that! Do they bite?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

To my knowledge, they eat insects and caterpillars.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Wow! LOL I think if I came across that it would kinda freak me out! Im glad they are a good bug.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I'd have a heart attack if I saw that in my garden.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I've never seen one before! I do plan on getting some preying manthis for my gardens next year - I've had a heck of a time with bugs this year.

Found a lady bug on one of my Brugs yesterday and said "good girl - you can stay here as long as you like"!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I saw my first walking stick last weekend, too bad i havent seen it since. I'm thinking its been about 7 or 8 years since i've seen one here...maybe they are making a comeback?
i sure hope so.i love the cool bugs; )

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I see them in my garden periodically. They are huge here too. Usually a 12-18" long and range in color from green, to brown to a reddish color. I think they do eat bugs and I'm always happy to see them. This year I have more frogs and toads than ever before. Just wish they'd get all the cats LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh my gosh, I'd love to see a stick that long. I have enough holes now from the hail that I don't know if I have cats or not. LOL!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)
