My husband and I moved to a farm in Washington this spring and I have my first ever garden! I am getting into the swing of canning and freezing my own foods. I am totally psyched about the whole process. I am so glad that I stumbled onto Dave's Garden!
Still Wet Behind the Ears!
what a break being the first to welcome you to the dave garden family. you will find as you look through the different forums that there are people here who know a great deal about anything you want to know. hope you hear from you and don't forget the recipe forum. welcome aboard from a new york state gardener.
Welcome to Daves Garden, Char. I'll bet you are having a ball with your first garden. In my younger years I started small and it grew into something that I now can't take care of, so part of my veggie garden is flowers. I used to love to can my fruits and veggies and then just look at them. They always looked so pretty and they sure did taste good during the winter months. Hope to catch you around the forums when you take a break from all your work. Have fun!!
Welcome to DG char! I'm happy that you've found this place, you'll soon be in love with it and be amazed how many wonderful and nice people are here. I don't can or grow veggies, maybe one day I'll have enough room for it. I'll have to do my homework first, that is for sure! Welcome again....it's great to have you here!
Hello...this is a great site...you'll love it!! I used to live in Port Orchard many moons ago...during WW2...of couse I was but a wee child then. LOL Jo
Thanks for the warm welcome! Brugie, I used a pressure cooker for the first time this weekend and canned my green beans - they are beautiful! I love to walk by the pantry and glance up at them! :)
Jo, it is a small world - bet Port Orchard has changed alot since you lived here! It is still a quaint place and I love being on the water.
