Of all the things I need to be doing to get ready to leave tomorrow taking picture isn't one of them. However this little area looked so pretty. This is Arlene's Pink Beauty and my favorite brug to date. I moved everything into the shade in hopes it will survive me being gone for two weeks. The bannana is one from the co-op Shirley did last summer. Another favorite of mine.
I'll be thinking of you all while I'm in FL
((hugs))

My parting shot!
Beautiful pic! Looks like you are in a jungle.
Have fun. I am assuming you are going on vacation.
Kristi, that is beautiful, your stuff always is!!! Still can't find a blue pot like yours but I have not given up hope...
Wowie, what a beauty! What's that gorgeous plant beneath it?
Thanks! These few plants are the lucky ones today. The others are all wilting and stressing from the heat. We had our hottest day of the whole summer today. It's about 95F right now. It's been heck to work outside in it.
Honibee- yep, it's a real family vacation. My family and my mom and brother will be going as well. I'm SO excited.
Sherry- do you have a Franks nursery & crafts by you? That is where I've gotten a couple of them. The largest ones I bought at Ikea several years ago.
pins- that is begoinia Escargot. My most favorite begonia in the world. It even looks and grows well in the house.
Have a great time!! Sure wish I could come plant sit and hang out by the pool!
I am sure all your babies will be ok and glad to see you back,be careful
Have a good time but why leave when you're in a tropical paradise at home?
Kristi, they look wonderful. I hope they survive your being gone, but if not, you know where a lot of us hang out and all you have to do is ask. Have a great time and don't worry about your yard. Just relax and enjoy.
Gorgeous garden!
Beautiful picture! The banana plant, Escargot and brug are wonderful together. I'm going to have to look up the Escargot. Never seen one before.
Kristi, your pictures are always fantastic. You should have been a landscape artist.
Absolutely gorgeous as always!!! Hope you have a wonderful trip :) Gretchen
Beautiful Kristi. Have a safe trip
They look wonderful!! Have a safe trip.
Beauitful, kristi. Have a great trip. Stay safe.
Hope you have fun on your vacation! You certainly have a first-rate "green thumb" - your garden looks great!
It is very pretty.
Datdog,
>>It's about 95F right now. It's been heck to work outside in it.
It may not get to be 95F, while you are here in Florida, but humidity will smack you in the face. My plants love the high humidity and heat, but frequent trips to the A/C in my house freshening me up and I don't mind the humidity very much. You generally have a silght breeze in Florida and the afternoon Summer tropical rainstorms help cool down the atmosphere.

That is also my new favorite begonia. Just discovered it on Gardener's Diary.
Which banana is that? It is incredible. Know it needs a lot of watering. Is it hardy?
Hope you are now in Fla looking at bananas there.
Hi Roy, welcome to Daves. I see you are really into bamboo....wish I could grow it here, but no luck yet unless maybe growing in a pot and holding it over the winter would work.
Brugie,
Looking at the average temperature lows for Chariton, IA, there are some bamboos that should grow in your area. Here's a link to a new website a group of us are working on. I have filtered out species that have a cold tolerance of more than 12F. Remember the site is not up, but it is running, but you can get at least this information. And yes, I am into bamboo. Have been since 1978.

Thanks Roy. I've been reading and found a couple I'll probably try next year.
Kristi, that is a beautiful picture and beautiful plants! 'Hope you enjoy your vacation. (I've enjoyed the Maya you sent me last fall more than you know!)
Kay
