YEPPERS! .. Ya dang'd tootin' it is!! ... And a good'un to boot! hee
Real nice pic!! .. and some great 'stop-action' in my book!!

Haven't you posted one very similar, a lil while back too -?-

From what I can tell about your pic (and, I don't know how close you are/were) .. but I'm gonna offer up a word of caution to ya - - - - Surely ya see that thar other varmint there in the pic?!?

From what I can tell .. he's a Bald-Faced Hornet - so be careful !!! Most likely, the hummer feeder was the closest spot to pick up moisture for nest maintenance, etc. ... or, he was just a lil 'hongry' for some sweet stuff too. hee

They're not gonna bother you none .. 'less you bother them ... But still keep yourself out of their 'flight path' ...
They can definitely make you feel like you'd gotten a whompus kitty on your hind-end (or, where ever he may
happen to take a likin' .. to stingin' ya) !!! .. hee

The little hummer looks like she was doin' a lil whoop-hoop, from the Hornet .. (to me!) .. hee hee

If I posted this before ,sorry but I suffer from CRS. Got stung once this year and rubbed some apple cider vinigar on it and it made the boo boo all better. The weather has been so rotten and rainy it's hard to get out there to shoot any pics.

SandyD, if you'd have posted it several times - - don't even worry about it.
It's no doubt that 'I' can certainly get my wires crossed, and most easily, at
that! I'm sure it goes for the whole 'lot' of us too! .. hee .. But I don't think this is
the same pic anyway ... for surely I'd have seen the hornet right away!

We'd a huge Hornet nest constructed last year, just under the eaves of our front
porch. My hubby and the kids, thot 'mom' had lost her marbles. I, on the other hand
had a most wonderful opportunity to witness and document their architectural genius
first hand .. at my finger tips! Watched them and took pics, from the very beginning 'umbrella'
stage to the full blown condo. hee As a precaution, we kept the grandy-yunkins
far from that end of the porch tho'! I've got tons of pics, but they're on my
other hard drive, that I've yet to install it on my current PC ...

It's obvious, you're enjoying your camera .. And, that's what's more important!!
Keep at it ... Get more soon, and post them ... Luv that darlin' lil hummer feeder! hee

I like that feeder. Is it on a stake? One of these I'll try for hummers & butterflies. Still trying to figure out how shoot things that stay still!

I sure do call that stop action Sandy, and Magpye just meant there have been similar pposts I'm sure no one would give a hooot... This guy is not only frozen in the air but the total coloration couldn't have been better if you'd arranged it. Almost a reflected auora going on. He's a lovely shade of pink

No indeedys, gracious no! Have meant no harm or offense in any way SandyD !!

.. Blooms, thanks .. for helping make that clear. Appreciate it greatly!

Apple Cidar vinegar, 'ey? .. for hornet stings! ... Gonna have to remember to give that a try.
Spyballed another hornet near the hummer feeders this mornin' .. about the 3rd in a couple of days now! Just hopin' like the dickens they've not built themselves a nice nest 'under' the front porch this year!?! .. Especially with me not being able to get any pitters either!! HEE

This guy chases all the other guys that come in the yard. This is the Top Gun look.
