The Holy Grail of tropicals..

I just recieved this rare wonder today. A 3 foot tall division of Strelitzia Parvifolia Juncea..the rred leafed Bird of Paradise.Came from a grower in Calif. It's new home is this 2gallon pot.Has no leaf blades like others in the past. :-)

I've got a S. juncea. It is pretty cool looking. Mine's about the same size as yours. I've only had it since the spring. They supposedly get pretty tall.

I'm not rushing it to bloom for a while..I just love the spikey foliage.This plant (pic) was at the San Diego Zoo a few years ago..it was 7 feet tall and the blooms are near the ground.

I grew the Dahlia from seed..its a mix from Park seed co. called "Bishops Children"This is the darkest prettiest one of the whole package. I will dig and carry over the tubers of this plant this fall. :-)
