Brazilian Red Cloak

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Finally recovered from a tree branch falling on it and a caterpillar attack that ate the buds. It's a pretty pink.

It's beautiful Susie. I enjoy mine when it's in bloom and even when it's not because the leaves are so beautiful. Mine flowered for the first time this year (I started it from a cutting two years ago) and it even produced a few seeds. I've planted the seeds and I hope they'll grow well.

Suzie...your BRC is a lighter color than ours...which are a deep almost magenta. Mine bloom for about 6 months and then I cut them back a smidge and they bloom quickly. Each bloom lasts for ever, it seems and there are always flowers. I love it!!! I've seen it growing in the shade and it was about 15' tall looking for the sun!

Susie, very pretty, mine bloomed last summer.

They say these get 10 x 10 and I'm hoping they are wrong, lol.
Carol, I've seen pics of the darker one, but never seen one in real life. I wonder if it's a different variety or climate has something to do with it?
Kyle, is yours the same color as mine?

Suzie...I was told that growing them in full sun keeps them smaller...and whacking them back, even brutally doesn't seem to faze them!!! We should trade cuttings and see what the color does!
