Do I understand correctly: there are 6 major groups of brugs. Arborea, aurea, sanguinea, suaveolens, versicolor, vulcanicola . Most everything else comes from these. In a effort to plan an overwintering scheme I need to know which group my brugs fit into: I have
Frosty Pink
Dr.Seuss or Charles grim (depending on who you ask :) )
new this year and small (I havent seen them bloom yet)
white suaveleons
ollie
Isabella
a versi color peach
How can I tell which one of the 6 groups these hybrids come from?

Need help to decide what I have...
Unless a brug is pure, I put it in the multihybrid category. Here is how I would list yours, and I could be wrong. There are also Candidas and Insignis.
Frosty Pink, suaveolens
Dr. S./Charles Grimaldi, multihybrid
White suaveolens, suaveolens if it is a pure one
Ollie, multihybrid
Isabella, not sure. It could be the same as Golfito, a brug collected from the wild, but I suspect, suaveolens.
Versi. Peach, versicolor unless it was a cross that just took on the majority of it's traits from a versicolor from the past.
Candida...a cross between aurea and versicolor
Insignis....a cross between suaveolens and versicolor
This is my limited knowledge about brugs. Someone else can come in and give you more information, I'm sure.
Shirley -- thanks (even though I didn't ask)! I filed that one away in my gardening folder. Hope you don't mind! Gretchen
