Looking for double flowered rose of sharon

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

Hi
I would really like to have a couple of these. I would especially like the ones with two colors on them (as long as I am wishing) but would take even the plain colored doubles.

I do not have an accurate trade list posted but would be glad to email you a list of things I have to trade.
Thanks
Alice

Alice,
I have a double rose colored one in my yard. Would you like some cuttings?

Eileen That would be great! Is there anything special you are looking for????

Lettuce seeds, a lily bulb, or just postage - I'm easy.

This link describes rooting the cuttings. Does this sound right to you - have you rooted them before?

Hi eileen I have added a link from a site that I use a lot. I don't believe they are hard to root and that sounds like they are making it pretty complicated.

I would try doing some 8 to 10 inch cuttings, just below a node on an angle, take off all the leaves except the top two and dip it in rooting hormone if you have some. If not just stick them in the soil and we will see what happens.
Keep them in water until you are ready to put them in the ground or pot.
I will try doing a search here on Dave's I am sure there are some tips listed about rooting them, but I am sure I have read they are very easy to do.
If I don't find anything I will post the question and see what I can find out for you.
I am not into making life very complex!!!

I'll cut some slender branches 8-12 inches long and you can trim/divide to your preferences. Send me your address and I'll mail them early next week.
I don't see the link you mentioned...

Hi Eileen
I am so sorry looked it up and then forgot to put it in.

Mailing them to me is fine, that would be easier for you and I would be thrilled to give them a try.

I will email you my address.

I have a pinkish purplish double one, that I cut some branches off yesterday to see if I could root them for the KYRU. If they root, I can send you some, or I can cut branches to send you, whichever. Doris
