hardly used propagation mat.

Hi,

I know this may sound a little strange. I bought a propagation mat last winter to help with my seedlings and cutting to get a better faster start but I found something I like better. A friend gave me his used aquarium with lights and heat and I just love the control I have with this method much better. I will be picky with the offer as we know these mats aren't cheap.

Dottnmd, what are you looking for in trade? I'd LOVE to have this mat. Take a look at my tradelist, and e-mail me, as well, I may have something you want that's not on my list. Also, if you'd rather trade for something other than plants, I'm up for that, too. Thanks!

Dott, just out of curiousity, you said heat in the acquarium, I have a 30 gal tank with all the extras, was wondering how you use the heat to heat it? I'd like to give mine a try, never thought of that.

What size is the mat?

Kathy,

It is really simple and I love the control I have over the temps. I don't actually use the heat rock he gave me for it to heat it. I have a 10 gal. aquarium with the lighted hood and I replaced the standard aquarium bulbs with the floresent ones. I layered a dish towel on the bottom, then placed the heat pad and then layed an old small metal cookie sheet on top of that. I placed a thermometer (reads temps and humidity level) inside to keep better control on what level to set the heat pad. Last, I cut white posterboard to fit all sides and taped it to the outside so that I didn't loose any of the light from inside the aquarium.

I hope it helps.
