All right, gadget geeks and TV freaks, lend me your (rabbit) ears!
We're considering the purchase of a TV tuner card for our PC and wonder if those of you who've owned one might share your experiences. Is yours internal or external? Is it a combination video card//TV tuner or just a stand-alone tuner? What are your model's good and bad points, including its software?
We'd like to use PVR software (Personal Video Recorder - aka TiVO, RePlayTV etc.) and record shows to my hard drives. We'd also like to do basic things like freeze-frames, short clips, etc. An external model might be nice for traveling and for using with the laptop. We're looking to spend under $100 (well under if we can find something decent at a good price).
Has anyone used Hauppauge components? How about their WinTV PCI card? Or their WinTV-PVR-250? Saw these at eBay and it made me wonder...

How about ADS Instant TV?
