my six year old is showing a huge intrest in sewing. She has been making very "crude" doll clothes for her dolls with a needle and thread. This is not a phase she is going through, she has been doing this for some time now. Before she even started sewing, she was knotting clothes on her dolls with scarps of fabric or paper. At first I was nervous about her using a needle, but after watching her, she stitches with great care! I want to encourage her sewing abilty. My mom was an excellent seamstress, so was my sister as well as my maw-maw. (who never wore anything store bought!) Me, I can't sew to save my life..LOL! Anyway, I was thinking on getting one of these "tiny titan" sewing machines.(above link) I see that they are rated for ages 10 on, but I think she can handle the machine. They also have a finger guard so tiny fingers can't get "sewed".
Does anyone know about these?
