I just noticed today that the brug I've been posting pics of as "Pink Beauty" is actually my "Halo Peach". It was right on the tags, but for some reason I didn't read the plant tags. You know plant tags can be really informative?
These are the buds which looked like mousie feet back on July 17: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=956062 Look at all the buds on this plant now!
Hanging out with some buds
Gosh Kim!! You took to brugs like a duck to water. They look wonderful!! Wont be long!! How exciting!
Thank you! I'm really excited for my first blooms. The Halo Peach dries out pretty quickly in its pot, so I frequently dip a coffee can of our pond's water out and dump it in there. Other than one shot of Miracle Gro a month ago, that's all I've done. The ones in the raised bed have goat bedding and topsoil mixed together. No wonder they broke through their pots, eh?
Blooms coming soon !!!!! You are doing great !!!
Great looking plants Kim. Can't wait to see the first blooms.
WOW GW, you are caught in the brug web now! LOL. I have never seen Halo Peach, so make sure you post a picture. I can already tell it is a floriferous one!
When it is time to go inside for the winter, just cut the roots coming out off and then trim the canopy quite a bit also. And they should do fine.
Your going to love it Kim. Halo Peach will bloom all summer long. It does take a couple days to turn peach, but it will. I'm glad it didn't drop the little buds when I shipped it.
Looks great Gardenwife.....
Wow GW, you've done good with those brugs!
Your plants are beautiful g.wife. You are going to have a flush of blooms on Halo Peach and I look forward to seeing them. I remember the excitement of waiting for my first blooms. I thought about them so much that I had BBDs (Brugmansia Bloom Dreams) LOL.
LOL Delecie, I have those also!
wow GW they are so lush looking good job!!
Wow! I'm impressed! Lookin' good. Looking forward to the flowers, have never seen a Halo Peach.
Nice pics, by the way. Luv the frame on the first one! (How she do dat?)
Thanks, you guys! I'm glad those buds didn't fall off, too. I can't believe how well it bounced back after shipping and everything.
Irfanview, Shoe...click IMAGE > CANVAS size. There, you can enter how many pixels wide you want the border on each side of the photo, then choose the color. If you repeat the process a few times using different widths and colors, that's what you end up with. I just learned it could do that a couple weeks ago. Where was I?
Very nice GW! You got it going girl!!!
Glad to see your progress Kimberly, feed them like mad, you must smell them all!
very nice kimberly.. i hope to do 1/2 that good.. nice pictures to..
Kim, I don't worry much until it is going to frost and then I give protection on the ones that are important to me. I don't think you will see damage from low temps at night as long as the days can warm the soil back up. It is when the day and night temps both are cold and stay that way that I begin to think about putting them away for the winter.
Thanks for the tip, GW. I'll give it a try!
Okay, good. I hope these cool temps don't mean an early and frigid winter. This weather's unreal.
Glad to help, Shoe!
I sure hope it opens soon!
Your temps shown are how it is where I live all summer. It always goes down to the 50s at night and usually is in 70s in the day. The brugs so fine even when it drops to the 40s at night.
I want to move where you live, then! This has been fantastic, unusual weather for us in Ohio. It's usually hot and muggy this time of year.
We are waiting with you for some show stoppers. I am waiting on mine also.
Me, too, believe me! The blooms are inching their way longer, but not opening yet. ::bites nails::
You sure do take some great pictures. I'm a look and shoot kind of photographer. It might help if I had a better camera or even could help if I would read how to use it. Can't wait to see open blooms.
Awesome pictures Kim!
