does anyone have a home receipe for soil penetrate? You know what I mean? something that helps the water penetrate into the ground instead of float on the surface.
When I put my finger down in a pot only the first inch or so of the soil is damp.
Any help would be great!

A drop or two of liquid dish soap per gallon will help it penetrate the surface, maybe poke a couple pencil holes down in the dirt also.
I usually keep the top couple inches of dirt tilled up in my pots too.
