How about these tendrils? This is a seedling that is trying to open in our cold Iowa weather. I was hoping it might be pink and it may still have some color when the weather warms up a little. 50 degrees tonight. That is too cold for the brugs and me too.
Trying to open...
Chanting here ... Open ... Open ... Open! Those tendrils are something else. Have fingers crossed here for you ... first to open and then for color!
Wowee! That's going to be beautiful! Can't believe your weather for August! I'd be happy to send you some of my heat!!!
That's just beautiful - know Phil will love this. Linda
tell it a dirty joke shirley maybe it will blush LOL
I am x fingers for you. It is very pretty like it is
WOW! Long tendrils, sure hope it is a deep pink! Keep us posted.
Thanks everyone. Hey Gretchen, send heat!! I just looked at all the brugs and those in the path of the winds are getting leaf burn, probably from the combination of cold and wind. Not a pretty day here. If this one will continue to do well and open more, I may keep it just for the tendrils. If it turns pink, I know I'll keep it.
It's looks great so far, love those tendrils. I'd gladly send some heat to you, I'm melting here. Linda in Victoria BC
Is this not the strangest weather ever??? We have barely been near the swimming pool in two weeks! Can't wait to see your baby. :)
Our cool front came in and it is only 94 deg. here today. LOL
Oh Shirley... that is beautiful!!!! How long are the tendrils? We will chant....... :)
I have no idea. I don't carry a ruler with me. Carrying the camera is almost more than I can remember. LOL!
Wow,That one is really showing some promise!!I wish I had some warm weather to send your way, cool here.
So pretty Shirley!!! When do we get to see another pic? I'm so excited about my brugs blooming that I need a quick fix! LOL
We had horrible weather last night! A northern blew in about midnight and we had 80 to 90 mph winds! Ugh.....DH and I got out of bed at 1:30 and hauled all the container brugs in the house! Wow...what a chore when you're doing it fast! Luckily the brugs in the ground are ok....they just got wind blown but most are against the house so it wasn't that bad for them. I just knew they'd all be broken off! I did loose a few buds, but that is better than them all breaking off.
Burgie that is one to watch. Cant wait to see it open.
Awesome, Look at the pinwheel. Wish we had some warm temps. I am almost tempted to turn on the furnace. This weather is unreal for State Fair time.
Look at that! Can't wait to see when it's open all the way.
Wow! Those trendils are somthing! Just beautiful S!!
Very pretty, Shirley. Wish I could send you some heat. We're supposed to have heavy rains for the next few days.
This picture was taken today, so will see what happens tomorrow. I hope it will warm up a little so it will open better. Thanks everyone.
OHHHHHHHHHHHH, LOL. Is this the one you wanted me to see? Very pretty Brugie, or at least it looks like it will be. Cross it back to a dark pink.
Brinda, you DH deserves a brug medal! My DH has gone out late at night to cover them with sheets, but I do not think he would get out of bed to do it!
LOL Kell, he really is a keeper! Even though he makes me insane a lot of the time! LOL But you know....I'm sure he was thinking to himself, hmmmm....and if I don't get up and go help......I'll have to listen to her for months!
Shirley....I'm ready for another pic of this one! I bet it's gonna be a looker!
It's really pretty with those long tendrils...I'd love it even if it is white .
Can't wait for the pic of it fully opened...
Picture time! Picture time! Get out there and snap sister. We are waiting. LOL
wow it looks nice like that she looks like she is trying here hardest .please keep us updated brugie i love watching them at this stage.
That looks like it's going to be very pretty! I like it! Keep the pics coming......
HAD TO COME LOOK ONE MORE TIME
this one looks like it is going to be a great pink!!
does it have thick walls? It sure looks like it does. and the carolla is huge , and it is kinda stubby just like i like.
gorgeous shirley~ just gorgeous!!!
and to think it hasn't finished turning yet.......
Amanda, I think this will be one that I'll want to grow again next year and see if it will be worth naming. Right now, I just can't tell what it is going to do. I don't believe it is extra thick and it is far enough into the seedling bed that I can't get my nose in it to smell it. LOL!
I see pink coming. We are starting to warm back up tomorrow. Hurrah..
