Daylily 'Brookwood Black Kitten (Sharp, 1995)'

La Plata, MD(Zone 7a)

What a gorgeous picture! Is the flower really that blue?

I saw this at the AHS national - it was third for best small clump.

I was a little surprised, I expected it to be more black, but it was very purple. I didn't see any red in it at all.

It is now on my "to get" list - I am going to dig a new bed for all my "cat" lilies

Oh.... WOW! This is now on my "list" too! It's incredible! Can't wait to find some (MUST have more than one!) Thanks for sharing!

I sured missed that one at the national meeting, but then I missed one from there that California_Sue posted recently too. There were a lot to see.

It was at the second garden (B - Bus) where the brothers were selling. The backyard was rows and rows of massive clumps. This was in front where the bus dropped you off.

It was my first national and I really enjoyed it. So many daylilies and we didn't get drenched until the last stop at MOBOT.

Same with the rain for us, but apparently not for the folks that swapped days. I just received the tape of the convention from Bobby Baxter and there seemed to have been quite a bit of rain. He was on the a buses.

I got absolutely soaked - couldn't get any wetter. Ran into the rain forest area hoping it would link back to the main building - no such luck. At least by the time I found my way out it was no longer raining buckets. Makes me glad I looked at the roses and lilies on the way to the daylilies.

Did you see the clump of Spacecoast Cranberry Kid at MOBOT?

We must have been there about the same time, and we also went into the rain forest area for shelter. We did see that clump, and I think took a picture of it.

Hey, I was on a B bus too, also got drenched at MOBOT! Our group was on the last bus from MOBOT to the hotel. We were last on the bus many times, always had to get that last shot in, the bus group started cheering when we straglers came on board.
I sure did see SPACECOAST CRANBERRY KID, also soaked from the rains but managed to get this shot.

Harold was usually the last one on our bus - we tried to sell him to another but they wouldn't take him!
