Seedpod shape???

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Yesterday I noticed this big pod on one of the Goldtraum X Pink Beauty Seedlings (it also has a smaller pod). I was surprised at the shape. I'm guessing that its reverting to its aurea genes to produce pods of this shape? Thanks for any comments/input! Gretchen

Anyone???

Am I wrong in my belief that PB is an Aurea hybrid?

PB is Rothkirch x Ocre... so yup... it has aurea genes, alrighty. I was surprised by the pod cuz Gold Traum is so sauve-ish. I'm not sure if I saw the bloom on the Momma... was it pink?

Thanks, Sue! No the flower was a total non-event, not even worthy of posting a photo... Here she is right before she fully opened.

Any idea how long before this and my suave pods will be ripe? And, how do I know? Thanks again, Sue!

I'm not a good one to judge seed pods. I think it changes the course of maturing when plants have to be brought inside. It seems like some will take forever.. Most are about 8-12 weeks.

Thanks so much, Sue! I'm hoping these will mature before the first frost since they're in the ground...
