I am having a time getting mine to bloom except for Isabella. Are there others that tolerate a lot of shade (not deep shade in the woods), and cool nights, often down into the 50s.
which bruggies tolerate shade and cool nights (50s deg.)?
Many brugs will do very well in your zone. You should choose cuttings out of the flowering region to have a early bloom.
Our summer nights are always in the 50s (F) - generally the low 50(yes, I keep track). They take longer to start blooming but now most of my plants are loaded with buds. Yesterday morning it was 48 when we got up. It doesn't bother most of them at all. They seem quite happy.
The versicolors don't like it in the 40's, which it is here until at least the middle of June. (June 15 & 16 it was 42 degrees in the morning.) They do grow VERY slowly here. I've about given up on the versi's. The rest of the plants don't mind our night temps. at all.
