Large Dog Beds - Cheap!

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I had a real problem. Finding a dog bed LARGE enough for my Rottweiler was bad enough, but he's also incontinent. He takes medication, but it doesn't help 100%. So I needed a bed with some kind of a waterproof cover as well as a fabric cover. Looked all over, and cost was around $200 before I was done - bed, waterproof cover, and washable cover over that (which would have to be cleaned about every other day). W-a-a-y too much $$!

I thought, "Who/what else has incontinent problems? Who/what wets the bed?" Answer: BABIES!! Found a used crib mattress at the thrift store for $15.00. Put an old blanket ($5.00 at thrift store) over that, and voila! A $200 dog bed for about $20.00! Wash blankets frequently, mop surface of mattress, and spray with Febreeze. Little trouble for big reward.

Get the kind of mattress that is really thick, 5-6 inches. It's the best made, has inner springs, and will last. If there's a tear anywhere, use duct tape to fix it.
