It's Sooooo HOT!

Northern California, CA

It's so hot and my 'Double White' is finally dropping her skirts! At 102F finally she is doing her thing. Must be the timing is just right, before when it has been this hot she usually just turns brown and fries. Definitely worth the wait!

Edited for spelling!

Happenstance...awesome! :-)

WOW! Very pretty!

It's two, two blooms in one! Very pretty! When you have weather with temps over 100, does it still cool off some at night? I think that is a big factor in how well plants tolerate heat - as long at it gets cool enough at night they can rest and recover without getting too stressed.

Great bloom. I wilt at 102 degrees, so I'm not surprised when my flowers do too.

I hear that!

That's a beauty of a pic, Happy!

Beautiful flower!

I love that flower. Sure hope mine blooms sometime before Winter. The only one I have with any blooms at all is the one I call "Old Faithful." I think it might be Dr. Seuss. Usually it has very large blooms, but the blooms right now are much smaller than usual.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful bloom. Mine usually drop the second skirt with cooler weather. You are lucky that yours does it in the heat.

Thanks for all your nice comments about 'DW'....she's basking in all the kudos!

Sorry I missed your question Tom H..........yes it does cool down here at night. Despite highs of 85-105F, generally it is 50-60F during the night hours.
