What is so cool about this canna is you never know what you are going to get with each flower and each leaf. Even the leaves have some red.

I love this canna. Can't wait for mine to bloom. Got it late, but have hopes.

I love this canna! I have one that has just finished blooming! I have a question. I'm wondering about the streaks in the foliage and the red in the flower? My question being.....I have a friend that has a lot of streaks in her foliage and a lot of red in the bloom. Mine only has one small streak and most of the bloom is yellow with red dots. Am I nuts? Or is the right or even possible?

Seems as temps get warmer, mine is more red, don't know for sure, tho', just what does it?

You both could be right. I seem to have more red as the season goes on. And my leaf streaking is heavier.

What is the best way to keep your bulbs over winter? I have lost several. My uncle keeps his in small paper bags. I have been looking at the Horn Co-op and would buy some. I just hate the thought of losing them.

Those cannas won't be shipped until spring, so you are safe with them for this year. At that great price, I don't worry so much about losing some over the winter. Last year I kept mine in plastic grocery bags at about 60 degrees and most of them made it. I didn't close the bags, just sat them on the cement floor in Jim's shop and was surprised at how many made it.

My Grandmother used to live in Ark in z6. She told me that if you build a little mound of dirt and plant the rhizome it will over winter. She says that they can't take a freeze, so if they aren't sitting in water they won't freeze. I haven't tried it as most of mine will always over-winter here. And it sure doesn't mean that it will work either, but she swore by it.

I have a elderly uncle that uses bags of leaves in one large bed against his house. It works well, but looks hedious!
