Merlin

Hello everyone. I just had to tell you about what my DH got me for an early birthday gift. A cat. We got him from a shelter in Sulpher Springs (about a 45 min drive), and he's a cutie. He's a 1 and a half year old Himalayan. The poor baby has been shaved. The lady told me that when they got him from the shelter where he used to be, his coat was really matted up. I can hardly wait for it to grow back. I've never had a long-haired cat before. I hope to post some photos tomorrow. He seems to be excited about his new home, but I'm afraid my 2 girls are quite grumpy about it. I wish they'd make him welcome, but I guess that will come in time. At least they're not mad at ME anymore. LOL

We had originally gone to the shelter in Sulpher Springs to check out a program they offer for spaying and neutering my ferals. It looks like we may be able to help quite a few of them.

About Merlin...My DH and I are going to Alabama for vacation. We're leaving Saturday morning. Is it possible that Abby and Annie will be used to him by then? So far they haven't tried to fight with him, but they do hiss and growl, and are just plain grumpy. I guess I should have gotten him when we returned, but I didn't want to chance him being gone. Is that selfish?
