Canadian Wish List

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thought I would start this in case someone has these plants and I could purchase/trade for a rooted cutting next spring.

Hibiscus "The Path"
Clerodendrum Thomsonaii (sp?)
Yellow Allamada................husband tracked one down. :D
Passiflora Lady Margaret

Would be interesting to see what others are wishing for as well.

I am wishing for a pink daylily, that looks pink from thirty feet also. Not melon, not peach, no neon yellow or gold throat to make it look orange from a distance. Maybe Cherry Cheeks will do it if it lives long enough to bloom.

Would also like a Brug cutting, a white, I think.

And Santa, I've been real good, so could I have a red-pink Martagon lily.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Echoes Imma thinkin' a couple of those could be filled by some of us. Your dream daylily might be a bit more difficult!

Yeh, a whole lot easier than your list.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I don't know....dem B.C.'ers have an amazing collection of plants! ;)

Calling.....calling those who are fortunate enought to take gardening for granted in the Canadian tropics......calling....

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

lolololololol... ;)

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Hello... did I hear someone call my name???

LOL

Echoes, I will have brug cuttings. My first single white is blooming for the first time. It's got lots of buds, and a very strong scent. The whole back yard smells like, Pledge furniture polish. I'd heard of a brug smelling like that, and thought it was a joke. NOT!! I have others as well, we can talk later.

Lilypon, I don't have anything on your wish list. Sorry.

The only thing on my wish list, is a plumeria, but I've got a good lead on some, come the end of October, so I'm not in any rush to get one yet.

Our forcast for Sunday, sunny and 28
Monday, sunny and 35!
Tuesday, sunny and 30.
with sun the rest of the week.

I'll be in the hospital for day IV treatments Monday & Tuesday. At least the hospital is air conditioned. We just had a couple of days of temps 22, and showers. It was a welcome change.

Glad to hear you are having a bit of a temperature break there Linda. I hope your treatments will give you a boost!

Yes, hope you feel better. I wasn't calling.... so much for me as for Pam. I think I better go and look after that kitty and get off here before I get any sassier.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Thanks for the well wishes.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Oh I think you *will* have one or two eventually Linda! ;)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Forgot to add a Passiflora named Lady Margaret!!

I have clerodendrum thompsonaii and clerodendrum ungandensis. I haven't started cuttings before but will give it a try.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thank you brugcrazy!! :D I've got the ungandesis but if I don't have luck overwintering it I'll know who to contact! The C. thompsonaii I don't have so Imma hoping you have lots of luck!

My wish list is so easy. A labourer and strong arms. I need wood split, garden weeded and cleaned up. Want many wheelbarrows of topsoil put on top of rubbish berm we have been making for last few years. Now I've started planting it.

Want all dock chopped out from disaster of melon patch of a couple of years ago.

Want some trees attended to, to get more sun onto hosta bed. Want someone to hold ladder, or I'll hold ladder to cut off dead limbs.

Requirements. Not afraid of heights.
Not allergic to poison ivy
Must love dogs - 10 of - small kennel
Able to recognise decorative plants when weeding.

Not too much to ask, is it.

When you are finished with him inanda please send him my way!

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Isn't it great to hear the dead trees are good for something? Here's mine. It's an apple tree that I pruned to dead last year. My tall white brug kept falling over so I tied it to the bird tree.

You'll see what I mean.

That dead tree is just too beautiful Linda. It really cries out for diff. kinds of clematis - as long as there is enough sun. What part of Victoria do you live in?

One of the prettiest things in Victoria are all the trees in bloom in the spring, road after road of them guys.Area called Fairfield. Wish I'd had my camera when I was living there.

I'm going to have to eddicate myself. Would Lilypons be kind enuff to translate into common language, just in case I have something she wants. I only know lillium & iris. Anything else needs to be translated for me - as Echoes has found out.

Inanda, you've given me an idea. I'im not too much of a fan of clematis, but I have a great honeysuckle, still in a pot after two years. It desparately needs to be planted. Covering the dead apple tree would be a great spot! We are out by Mount Doug. I've lived in James Bay and Esquimalt though. I totally agree, the streets in the spring are great with all the blooming cherry and plum trees. I'll post pictures next spring so the others know what we're talking about.

If you lived here, what on earth are you doing in Manitoba?? LOL

Linda in Victoria

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Linda, living in James Bay, I was an instant babysitter for my kiddo. Decided that I wanted a life of my own.

Echoes, you want a pink OR a red OR ??? Martagon?

Why not settle for a black asiatic like black velvet or Red Velvet.

you could always buy SunGod for $40 vbg
