Hi all! I am new to Daves and after reading all the info on seed trading still have a few questions.
Do most subscribers use the trade-tracker and trade list features?
The other question is- Dave suggests trading a little more than a commercial packet of current seed. I have 2 large tightly sealed containers of commercial packets kept in the fridge (as well as some saved seeds) that include a variety of years. I have never had a problem sprouting them. Based on Dave's advice should I not list them? I would not be able to offer the quantity or current year dates suggested but I do have some interesting varieties.
Seed Trading/Trade Tracker
Wow, is it the name name I selected? Anyway, have not had much response from anyone on any of my posts these past 2 weeks.
I love to talk gardening and look forward to it - I have received a couple of e-mails from local folks so that is great!
Anyway, here's another pic! Maybe it will get someone's interest...
Here's my favorite to top all favorites!!! Indian Summer
Hello ncgardenaddict and welcome to DG! This is a wonderful place and you will find that you feel at home here! I just love it!
As far as answering your seed questions. I think if I were going to list them, I would note that they were not 'fresh' seeds. There are many people that would like to try them even if they are not fresh!
Again....welcome and happy gardening!
Thank you! I have such an addiction..... Hence the name! lol
Hey ncgardenaddict! I'm sorry you haven't had much of a response to you question, and I don't know the answer about older seeds. There are tons of experts here, and you may want to direct your question about the seeds to the Propagation Forum. Your plants look great! I don't have any of them growing, and I'd love to trade you for others you don't have. Email me or send a message to the Plant Trading Forum.
I'm so glad you're here!

Thanks Carmen! I am going to catalog my seeds this weekend ( I promised myself!!) and barring my two year old will have it done! I will be in touch. I will include pack by dates so there will be no surprises.. Johnny's has been my historical favorite with Pinetree tried last year. I feel confident about both! Thanks
Welcome to Daves. I've been here off and on over the last week, but had a lot of company and didn't get into this forum. I agree with Brinda. Lots of people will probably try your seeds even if they are a little old. It is just nice to be told that ahead of time and then the choice is left up to them. Hope you are enjoying Daves Garden.

Welcome from pakistan, enjoy in DG like us.
Well as usual I didn't get a thing accomplished I planned for! Anyway, had a great time with the kiddo though. Gumlla, thanks! How awesome it is to be able to communicate with people all around the world! To have a common interest is even better!!! Gumlla what kind of plants thrive in your area? Just curious! Carmen I swear I am going to get to my seeds soon! It's so hot here right now I should have the time... Take care everyone! Nicole
Hi Nicole from the Midwest!!
I'd recommend getting your seeds organized and listing them in the Trade List. It allows you to enter the year collected (or in the case of purchased seed the year they are packaged for). Once you have your seed list entered, step on over to the Seed Trading forum and post a message saying you've recently updated your seed list and post a link to it (be sure to view it as an external viewer would and not from within the Trade List while you are editing it). If that's not clear as mud let me know.
Welcome again!
Brenda
