My front tropical garden..

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Full sun all day. I'm always surprised that anything can grow next to the hot driveway.

Why would I plant only one variegated plant (it's a pholx)? Better yet, why don't I rip it out?*** DORK ***

Kristi, very nice!!!! Now ya need a nana tree in the bed and yu got it all. :-) P.S. I love the brick walkway!!

My goal is to have only hot colors in this front bed. Nothing pink or white... Ignore the pink pholx, it's the plant that never stops blooming. Darn Tomatoes aren't going with my color scheme, a little red please....

Thank you Kyle! I wish I could turn the whole front into a garden. I can only cram so much stuff in this smallish bed. You know, I do have a bannana and it's in a pot. Too lazy to put it in the ground then dig it back up.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Really pretty! Looks like a lot of work? Where are those tomatoes you are talking about?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Look under the red perennial hibiscus (the only type I can grow with out killing) They sure aren't doing a whole lot of anything. I don't think my soil is fertile enough for them.
Not too much work Gloria. A couple times a season I have to cut back LOTS of the foilage, that's about it. Most of the plants in the big bed are perennials.
