We all will be seasoned after thirty or more years. None of us will ever be experts, we all will be students, new things are happening daily. Live and learn, I don't like the alternative. Keep carefull records for each plant, just incase a label is lost.
It's also best to put one on the bottom of the pot under the soil, and two on the top of the soil, one in front and one in back. Write with a #2 lead pencil. They last about 5 yrs. when not facing the sun. This I did learn from the experts.

Norma...when I hadn't anything else, I used one of my drawing pencils, a #6 and it has worked the SAME, lead is darker and it writes more smoothly on the plastic. Just thought I would share that.
