This is from my dad's house. These things almost remind me of some sort of squishy cocoon. they're fleshy-like and about 1/8 inch in size on the trunk of the tree. My dad thinks it's because of the ants. We've been trying to control the ants but can't find a spray safe enough to use on a fruit tree that will work. Any ideas?
What is on this peach tree?
peach tree borers is what it looks like, they'll kill that tree in a year or so depending on how big it is. I had them, was told to put down a circle of moth balls dig a trench around the tree and bury them up in the ground, it fumigates the tree, and I spray the tree with 50% malathion it seems to be working, but man their hard to get rid of too
