Storm a brewing tonight.... *wahhhhhhh*

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Calling for high winds and hail.... Rat dogs!!!! My yard is full of blooms and buds. I took some pictures just in case. Here they are. This is my walk way to the house from the pool. I had to move the brugs here today as our temps were 90 with FULL sun. It's been over cast for days and I didn't want the blooms to fry.

Kyle's Pink.... I'm going to toss EP and keep this one. It's been in bloom since spring. EP doesn't bloom as much for me. All these buds just opened tonight and they are still white.

kristi...we hade 4 inches of rain in two hours last night with 50 MPH winds..I thought for sure all my brugs were toast even Clare Mills as its a tall tree with tons of flowers on it..but YEA! No damage other than torn leaves on the nanas. :-) Hope yours make out alright!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

You sure have some beauties. Keeping everything crossed for you, hoping for no damage!

Keep us posted, hope your computer doesn't go down.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great pictures Kristi. You are probably getting what we had yesterday. It was heavy rain and damaging winds with hail in some places. We had tornadoes in the state too. I lost the top out of one brug and a 4 ft. basal from another, but the thing I hate most is that the soil was saturated when the winds blew and the brugs are all leaning now. It pulled them a bit out of the ground. The will be okay, but seedlings I'm keeping will have to be re-potted and deeper to not show the bend in the trunk. I hope like heck it misses you. Many brugs in pots blew over, but they really didn't have damage. Just stay safe. You and your family are more important to us all than any plants.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Well, it rained all around us, but did we get a drop? Noooo.
Kristi, I hope your plants don't get much damage. Your gardens are so pretty.

Hoping the storm doesn't do any damage!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks Kyle! Glad you didn't suffer any damage.
Thank you Gloria I will.

Boy it sure does sound like you had some very scary weather Shirley. Sorry you had damage. Any damage is too much this time of the year. I hate to hear your going to have to repot. I'm half temepted to put a couple of them in the garage. Too bad hubby isn't around tonight, I'd use him as a pack mule LOL.... I'll keep you all updated.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Kristi, your yard is stunning. What mess?

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Everything looks beautiful, Kristi! What mess? I'll keep my fingers crossed that the wind & hail skip your house. We wait so long for flowers, I want them to last as long as possible!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

No rain Susie? Just your area? I thought Texas was getting lots of rain... Sounds like my mom's area in Kentucky, we joke (she scrams and rants LOL)the rain stops at her county line.
Thanks MzMunchkin and Root... Root I could have used you right about now.

What a beautiful garden. You've done a fabulous job.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

I sure hope you did not get any bad storms. Based on what I've seen with 'Cypress Gardens', a strong wind can completely flip over those long, versicolor-type flowers and cause some damage. And even small hail is devastating to just about any plant with large leaves or flowers.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Kristi, you got your tiitle right in more ways than one!

I just love your yard so much. All these brugs flowering must be a sight esp in NJ! Do your friends all comment in awe?

Pls post a pic of Kyle's pink when it turns pink.....I am chanting for the strom to go away!

You have got to clear it up for me, Kristi! I am flying in Monday for a month!

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

Datdog... here's a possibly dumb suggestion...but at least I'm thinking of you :)... wonder if placing large plastic garbage bags over the brugs maybe stuffed with newspaper or tissue paper would help to keep the wind and rain from tearing those beautiful blooms up? You proable couldn't do them all but maybe a few???

Well I'm think of you...prayers.

Kristi, your yard is so gorgeouis. What is the name of the large green hosta and the ground cover right in front of it? Everything goes together so well.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I hope it is calm there this morning, let us know how you faired when you can,
MsC,I would be afriad a bag would act like sail in the wind.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Oh Kristi! Your yard is JUST beautiful! I also am hoping for the best there in your town.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think that your idea is a great one for some plants Lottie, but I would have trouble finding a bag that would fit most of my brugs. I'll keep that in mind for some smaller plants in huge containers though, especially around frost time here. Maybe I'll be able to squeek out a few more weeks of autumn and color. It isn't pretty when it all turns brown and limp.

Kristi, I sure hope everything is okay this morning.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and kind words it worked! We just had a little bit of wind and hardly any rain/no hail.... YEAH!!!! I will get to see blooms after all...

(((hugs))) to you all... Kristi
