Look alike Hoyas

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

Hi all,
I'm sorry for not visiting you all much here lately. I just had a little mishap and had been feeling blue lately but I'll try to be around more often.

Well, for all the newbies around. I found a site that gave a great example of why we shouldn't try to ID a hoya by simply comparing them to others leaves. For the past two years I've done much looking at all the websites there are and of course drooled over the blooms. As my collection has grown, I've tried to get my own hoyas ID'd to be 100% sure that the name I was give is actually correct. I quickly found out how many hoyas look alike by leaf and even by blooms. If you care to look at this site; http://www.shell.linux.se/mypos/misc/crass/crass.htm you will see three fine examples of how much hoyas can look like each other and how easily one can make a mistake in labeling. I'm sure this is a good reason why some unscrupulous vendors have taken advantage of this situation to make a buck. Anyway, I hope this helps! ;)

Mary,
You can try translating the text via the link below. It's a word by word translation but it's better then nothing at all :).

Gemila, I've been saying that for the past two years. No one would pay attention. All thought I was nuts.
All plants are that way, we even pull them apart to see the tiny small parts that can make a big difference. Gemila you are so right. Norma

Yep... I have had, a couple of times, a plant grow happily along looking like every other brother/sister and then suddenly the leaves start to change and I think..."Whoa...Is this the same plant". Leaves are so fickle. and IDing by leaves is not only hard...it is impossible.
