7 points, cool, which one is this?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

It is a Kyle baby, unreleased, so I don't know if he would want me to say. Bless his heart I am sure he gets bombarded for request already. It grows good here, in humidity valley, blooms like crazy.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Tracey..I am surprised its a yellow at first. Was always white with a slight pink edge for me.Do the flowers stick almost straight out instead of angled down?

Mary in la, its called "Pleated Beauty"

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Another Beauty by Kyle!!!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

The yellow is only before opening.. I was just showing you the seven points. Ashely was having to help me hold the flower while I took pictures, and she can't reach very high. It opens up white as snow, it had some pink last fall, I suspect the heat and the very high humidity are keeping it from getting the pink edge, the flowers do stick out, but with the seven points they are a little heavy and very full, I have it in full sun and am going to move it to a little more shade.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

It bloomed well for me.Always along the stems as opposed to at the top of the plants.Did well in the heat..a trait I love and try to keep in my hybrids. :-)

Tracey, Thanks for posting these pictures! I am delighted to see photos of Pleated Beauty. Very pretty!

Kyle, Are all those points why it is called Pleated Beauty? I have some seedlings of yours from last year that are Pleated Beauty x ?. None of the seedlings have bloomed yet but they all have very distinctive leaves. I can pick most of the 10 out at a glance from he crowd of other seedlings. The leaves are generally a lot wider & shorter than all my other plants and the plants are quite bushy. Might that give you a clue as to who the pollen doner might have been?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Very heavy bloomer. It is loaded. Did you have lots of seven pointers?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It is one, I would like to have. Seven pointers are rare!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, very nice. It would be cool to have a tree full of seven pointed blooms.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

It usually has a few 7 pointers,6 and 5 pointers mostly.

Sewcrazy, the pollen came from either Ver Orange or X Inca Sun.Hope you get something nice! :-)

Root dr is my biggest fan!!! Can ya tell? :-)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

ALways will be Kyle,I am going to do a plot in the yard with just your Brugs one day!

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Wonderful as usual!

Kyle, would you please post your favorite hybrids (for heat) that have been released, in another thread? It's so hard to keep everthing together with so many brugs out there!

Please and Thank you?
Vi

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Vi I haven't released most of them. But I will list what I have thats heat tolerant.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Great!

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Kyle, I'm with violabird... I'd sure like to see your list of heat-tolerant brugs. For those of us in the south knowing which brugs will stand up to the heat would be very useful. It would be great if someone, somewhere, would maintain a list of which brugs like hot weather and which like cool weather, so people who live in different climates will have a better idea of the plants that will do best for them.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Conditions can vary in a yard,a lot depends on morning sun/afternoon, Heavy mulch or in a pot,I am finding my pots heat up,I will still have some in pots, but they do better in the ground for me.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Root...mine do better in the ground with mulch too.keeps their roots cooler. :-)

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Kyle, Root is a mad man incase you didn't know... LOL I swear if he ever goes to the Doctor they are going to find about a pound of pollen up that nose of his. Everytime I looked up his whole face was in a bloom!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

LOL!!!!!!! :-)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

It is no lie,to go to Traceys in the middle of a bloomless winter, well,it was like hitting the inside gardens in DM,a true treat.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

With blooms growing out of his ears too! LOL
