"Now, I'm not a smart man..."

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

...but it sure seems to me that brug flowers are oftentimes at their prettiest just before they are fully opened!

Luv the color and form of these babies at this stage!

Purty, eh? :>)

The following day it opened its mouth and hollered out loud. (I think I preferred it when it was "whispering"!) :>)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I prefer the hollering stage myself, but that's just my nature. LOL

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehe...I hear ya Mgrannie! ;>)

I keep looking for that 'hollering' stage each time, too...mainly to see "what's this one gonna look like inside?"!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Very pretty Shoe! :)

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Looks great Shoe! That IS a real pretty stage.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And I think you are pretty smart there Shoe!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

WAH HOO Shoe!! Ain't they great! I like the first stage too!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

kell, yeh...I guess you hit the nail on the head...it's pretty in both stages. And yes, her name is Isabella. (You're good! I find it difficult to tell one type from another unless one has super outstanding features.)

Thanks for the compliments ya'll. I'll pass them on to Isabella, she'll love to hear them!

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I agree with Kell, both stages are beautiful. What a pretty bloom shoe, congrats!!!!

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

That sure is beautiful. I don't have a darn one blooming right now but your picture reminds me to keep watering and fertilizing. Guess I will go and get the waterhouse. ((sigh))

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Wow Shoe, you done good!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Cala...I'm sure that's from one of your cuttings you sent a couple years ago. Thanks.

shadowgirl...This one is in a very happy place, surrounded by other plant friends. (I think she enjoys "bragging" to them!)

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It is very pretty Horseshoe! I love them especially at night, when they are wide open.....and do smell good.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

She's a little show off, maybe she'll get her "friends" to bloom!
I like.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Shoe, the flower is beautiful!
You can grow anything!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Shoe your subject line sure is an attention grabber. That sure is a pretty one.

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

show, she's showing and strutting her stuff. Hey maybe the others will get motivated and get in a competition with her. woohoo.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

ah Shoe.... the pinwheel stage is a fav of mine as well... Isabella for all her plainess is still one of my favorties as she is so realibly hardy and such an eyecatcher during the peak of her flush or should I say *blush*

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I agree with you Shoe - that is very pretty, before they open up. You're a smart man!

Whitewater, WI

Wow Shoe, that is very pretty.... :)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

My goo'ness gracious!....

I'm tickled ya'll like this stage of Ms Isabella as much as I do! She's downright pert, and purty!

Monika, yes...I hear ya...she's a real sweety! A nice perfume says "Howdy" as I walk by her on the way to the house each evening. (Do you know she is still perfuming at midnite!?)

TrishMunchken...I wasn't aware that was called a pinwheel stage, thanks! Now I know how to address those beauties!

Thanks folks for sharing your thoughts. Much obliged!

Keep smiling! Be happy!

(Be Happy Smiling Brugheads!) ô¿ô

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

I kinda like them at that stage too..

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

It's lovely 'Shoe'....great spirel with those long tendrils.
Thanks for sharing. :-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

The pinwheel brug bloom can really be an awesome look. I had one last fall after the frost that really caught my eye. Nice picture Shoe.

'Shoe, the fragrance is even stronger at midnight. Even the sweet fragrance of Mobisu can then be noticed of a distance away and B. x flavas usually do not have such a strong fragrance like the other brugs.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I recently saw something on a yahoo message board that read: ME LOOK FER SMART MAN TO MERRY ME! DO YUO LIEK SPAGETTI? JELLO? YEAH GOODY!"

I can't remember it all, but it was pretty hysterical.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL Karrie, does Shoes brug remind you of Spaghetti or jello??

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow Brugie, that's a beaut!! And Kell, I didn't know you had also fallen for the "pinwheel" look ...nice pics in the thread you linked above! (If I came to this forum more often I would've seen that thread and could've posted my pic there. Sorry to have started another one and became a "copy cat".)

monika, I don't know what Mobisu is...is that a variety of Brug? I"ll do a search and try to find a picture. Thanks!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I like your new post Shoe! Here is Mobisu.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow!....I like that Mobisu! Also like the "tree training" look!

Guess I better start feeding my little brugs better so I can get as many flowers on them!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Shelly, no of course not - it was the "Smart Man" part that reminded me of someone in there saying that, which I found funny. I couldn't refrain myself and just had to share it with Shoe, lol!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

ohhh ok, that flew right over my head! lol

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehe....Karrie! Wheww...guess I'm lucky to NOT be a smart man, eh? :>)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

lol!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

SHoe,how did that BBQ turn out??

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Delish!!!! I sure wish I had taken "in progress" pics! I actually just got around to pulling it last nite and finishing it up. So good! (Today I hope to take pints and quarts around to give to friends as a surprise!)

(Never got to the mango salsa though. Sorry. However, I'll be doing this again soon!) Thanks a ga-zillion for your help and expertise!
