I don't see them making any meals from my brgus, and there's only a couple around, ut not sure if I should send them on their way? What is it, and should it stay?

Looks like a "stink" bug, don't know what they do, just ugly and if you hit them with your hand, the smell is horrible.

The smell from them smells like old grass or leaves...so my guess is they eat the heck out of the foliage. Just a guess though.

Only one that stands a chance with me now is a ladybug, everything else gets instant SQUISH!!!

Rock Hill, SC(Zone 8a)

A stink bug, and to me when you touch them, your hand smells like old cucumbers, lol. And hard to wash off.

Root, do you or do you know of anyone that can swear that a ladybug does no damage??? Regardless, I'll never squish a ladybug, my middle aged 'children' and I love them...

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

I didn't know stink bugs did any damage... I just thought they were really stinky when you killed them. I've never seen a bright green one like that either.

Sherry, I can swear that ladybugs do absolutely no damage. They are a natural predator of aphids in fact and are used by farmers. I took an Integrated Pest Management class when I was a botany major and learned this!

Poppy Sue will know....... she is the only bug expert I know!

This is good to know, art_n, thanks!! This year, first time I've ever noticed, we have ladybugs of different colors, rather than just red with black dots. Am I just the last to know????

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

Hmmm, what colors are they? I think I've seen orange ones but that just might be younger ones or something, I dont know.

Just don't confuse a cucumber beetle with a ladybug, cucumber beetles kinda look like yellow ladybugs, but they do a lot of damage to brug flowers, whereas ladybugs don't.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is a link that shows a stink bug. Sounds like they don't do any damage, but it also doesn't look like your bug. Maybe yours is just immature.

We have the greenstink bugs here.. I love ladybugs, I hate cucumber beetles they are tearing up jack around here this year.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

You're right Brugie, it sure didn't look like the one in the link you posted. I'll have to do some looking around. I didn't kill it, it was gone, by the time I went back out. No obvious damage to any of the brugs.

Thanks everyone.

I just like Ladybugs, anything that is a possible Brug damager is not going to last long.
And I am a organic kinda guy,I am just passionate about my Brugs.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

These bugs do a lot of damage to the brugs. The pinch small holes into the younger leaves, the holes become larger with continuing growth. It also deforms the leaves.
