This was taken after a gully washing rain this evening and the poor bloom looks pitiful but it is so big.
Another Suzie cross
Oh Ada, I can't believe you got nailed with rain again. She really looks pretty good considering what she must have gone through. It this the first night open? If so, it could get darker, but that is really a nice soft pink.
Gosh....she looks huge! I'm excited to see her after she gets darker! Very nice!
That is a biggie,very nice!
Wow, the color on the second two pictures is different. I was writing my post after I saw the first picture. She sure is a big bloom.
Very pretty! Her skirt just looks great! Im liking the color too.
Lookin' good, please keep us posted.
Pale, but pretty and so huge!
That's it's first bloom, Suzie. It may get darker but it's pretty like it is and it's such a big bloom.
Wow, you are really water logged there. That is too bad. So much work to do over and over. I hope most of your brugs are going to survive. If not, write me.
LOL Shirley if I keep digging them up, they'll all be back in the garage, Then the toads will be digging the dirt out. I put three inside the garage today because they were trying to die from too much water.
Boy, your luck has not been running good this year. I sure hope the rest of your summer and fall will be nice for you. You deserve some good weather for a change.
We had a gully washer this evening. When I came home from getting my hair cut, the side ditches were over flowing but we're still luckier than the folks in and around Dallas, Texas. Many of those lost their homes and everything.
I saw on the news that Dallas was hit hard. We still haven't had any rain!
Sure wish I could send you most of ours, Suzie. They're calling for rain the next five days here.
Just terrible Ada. Just terrrible.
Is that orangey or pink? It does look huge. i can't wait to see another bloom of it. I am so glad you finally got to see a seedling. You deserve a better summer after all your hard work.
Kell, it's orangey. I can't wait for another bloom without all the rain. LOL
What a huge flower!
Ada, I am sorry that you have such a bad weather. The pot holes in my garden are filled with water only during the winter.
Monika, we'll probably be dry for winter.
Oh let's hope so ... can you imagine what it would be like if all that rain was snow. That flower looks HUGE!!
Waterloolily, we don't get much snow here but the past two years, we sure have gotten a lot of rain. We usually get ice storms if we get anything.
Fall is when our rains start. We've had the sprinklers running, thankfully we're on a resaca so we have plenty of irrigation water. (but rainwater is so much better for the plants)
Suzie, wish I could send you some of our rains.
Wow, Ada, that bloom is huge. At least our rain stopped a few weeks ago, but now every thing is turning yellow. There was an article in the paper about how even trees leaves were turning yellow and dropping as if it were already Fall. Evidently all the rain really leached the nutrients out of the soil.
Sylvia, we had trees doing that last year also. I wish the weather would straighten up whether it's coming from global warming, El nino or El Poopo. LOL I don't want to lose anymore trees. I lost several last year along with plants and bulbs.
