Hi Lisa,

It's a Candy Cane, and a good looking one at that.

I have some Blue Moon that have bloomed, and I'm not overly impressed. The more I look at it, the more Blue I see, but I think it's a matter of wanting to see the blue in it than anything else.

Regarding the Habranthus, they're a plant it and forget it type of plant. You can't force them to flower. Only a substantial dry period, followed by some rain will get them to bloom. Water from the hose won't work.

If either of you have questions on any of these things, I have this thread watched now, but if anything else comes up, please email me. There's been a lot of changes in my life lately, and I don't have the time to browse through individual post like I used to. I still checked for responses to watched messages, but new ones, I'll probably miss. Hopefully things will settle down a bit in a few months.

Chris,

My Habrathu should be blooming soon, if dry spell then rain is the answer. We got our first rain in six weeks today!!! I am really tired of watering & have been wondering why did I plant so much!!

The Blue Moon look white to me, look just like the Ms Pearl. Do you think the grower miss labeled them?? Doesn't matter I am still enjoying them.

Hi Bonnie,

It wouldn't be the first time they mis labled something, and I've had other times where there were some strays in the wrong box. I did have a problem this time, where everything was labeled in Thai only. It took some scrambling, but I'm pretty sure I got that part taken care of.

If you can get pictures of the flower, I can ID them though, so you'll at least know which variety it is for sure.

Working with Thai growers, is a very unique experience. Mistakes, are common, accepted, and usually explained away with "Mai Pin Rai", which basically means, It's OK. It's the Thai way. The Japanese man that assists in these shipments likes to say, "Some times too much Mai Pin Rai".

Chris,

Thanks, but I don't have a scanner. I am almost postive it is Ms. Pearl. If I decide to trade or give one away, I'll keep it & send the labeled Ms Pearl. I like blooms & don't always have to know
the name, pretty flowers just make me smile.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Bonnie,

We're pretty lucky to have customers like you and others. We get in anywhere from 250 to 6000 per variety of plant, and the one thing that keeps me up at nights is wondering if a labeling goof was fixed correctly. If it's not, it would affect 100's of orders. Which we would of course fix.

If you have a friend over with a digital camera, see if they'll take a pic of it.

Beautiful!

Chris, life must be crazy for you right now. How is the move going? We miss you here.

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Mitjo,

I can't find any email. When did you send it? I hadn't heard anything back from you since we first talked about it, and I kind of just forgot about it with the move and other wonderful challenges. I can still get some things out to you if you'd like.

Lisa,

The move is basically done, but I found out the day before the move, it would just be me and the kids moving. Turned life upside down for a bit, but we're settling in. Once I get the balancing act of running a large office, a small business, along with being Dad AND Mom, I hope to be able to spend a little more time reading other posts.

Hey BT, that sounds like a challenge! I hope you still have time for a hockey game once in awhile!

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Now that we're only 15-20 minutes from the St. Pete Times Forum, I hope to be AT a couple of those games next year.

Chris,
I am so sorry to read your posting, I hope things work out for you and the kids. Along with moving comes stress and then having to deal with all that other stuff....

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

We'll be fine. It's challenging, but It's also been a great learning experience. I'm really enjoying spending the extra time with the kids, and still have a lot of other good things going on with Buried Treasures and BMC. It's sometimes tough not having my wife to share with, but the days that I let it get me down are getting further and further apart

I just sent you an another email.

She has opened up a little more.
