Yes and it was all my doing, with a water color brush!!LOL!
Lady Margret,in waiting.....
Don, I'm pretty sure that P. Lady Margaret is a sterile hybrid, which means there may not be seeds inside, but I could be wrong. Good luck!
Has yours ever fruited?
My old bloom is still hanging on, been almost 2 weeks. Am looking for fruit, will let you know. The only other one blooming at the same time, was Vitifolia, which has about 10-12 buds. Why can't they all open at the same time, would be a great shiow.
No, I didn't get fruit on mine at all. Sometimes the sterile hybrids, like P. belotti, will produce empty fruit, but you never can tell. What did you pollinate her with?
Incarnata,
Well, that one is not sterile so who knows!
Well now just a waiting game to see what happens, will let you know.
Did you hand pollinate or bees do it?
Those are a lot bigger than mine!!!
musta been the bees..
Whats next?
Wait to see what color it changes to,I guess it will fall off the vine when ripe.
Have you noticed them getting any heavier in weight,or bigger in size?
Being a hybrid, not sure what to expect.
They are growing bigger everyday...i mean fast & are heavy Lil' buggers too...
I'm a 'Real Rookie' so I have no idea what to expect...
I'll keep you posted and updated with pics as they change.
None of the other Passifloras I have are doing this, Is that normal too? Sorry, to seem so dence here but I have no clue past the bloom...
Thx, Carol
Carol and Don, keep us updated. It will be interesting to see if there are seeds inside, if they are viable, and what they may produce. Good luck to you both!
Carol, can you remember what else was blooming that day that might have pollinated the lady margret?
tropicman, There were many things bloomimg at that time, several other passifloras, daturas, salvias , lantana, roses butterfly bushs.... the hummers & bees were very busy and still are
Carol
Can you tell me which passiflora was blooming the closest to Lady Margret, more than likely it was that one that was the pollinator.
Passiflora x belotii and Clear Sky where the two others in bloom
edited to say: the Lady was in the middle of these two

tropicman, after waking up this morning and looking outside the passiflora closest to the Lady is Clear Sky...Don't know if that makes any difference or not
Thx, Carol
I think its a fairly new hybrid, please check and see if it has any pollen that could have pollinated Lady Margret.I never can get any off Belotti,I guess its sterile.
Well must be the clear sky,it has lots of pollen I see.Clare said the Belotti was sterile,so I wouldn't count too much on that pollen.
I believe one of the parents of Clear Sky is Caerula,so theres good pollen there.
They almost look like little watermelons!
I agree with you, Don. I think P. Incarnata is a parent to many hybrids, but I don't think P. Lady Margaret will produce viable seeds, if any, but I certainly could be wrong about that! Please let us know what you find inside those babies when they become ripe.
Today mine has double in weight,so somethimg is filling up in there!Hope its tasty too!
