I have two pods on one of my Mac's. I don't know if I can pollinate using the pollen from the same plant or not, but I'll have to give it a try. I think Illustris is still one of my favorite ears.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I like it because it can take the heat and still be pretty. Brugie, lots of my ears are blooming. Can I put Illustris pollen on Black Magic?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

What does ear pollen look like? And is it the same routine as the brug pollinating?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Liz,I think it is the same as Voodoo lily, the male/female parts are not mature at the same time,so you have to collect off one bloom and put it on the next one to open, maybe Kyle can clarify this better.

Well it bloomed again, and the first old bloom seems to have a pod. Anyone know what to do with the pod, or how long it take to mature?

Thanks!

Gilmer, TX

I've had blooms on mine. If I did this correctly, I should have a picture here. This is from last year, but I have one blooming now. I was quite surprised last year to find this one as I didn't know they bloomed either.

Yikes!!! Don't you love that background. That's the dirt house where the big plants overwinter.
