I have a baby palm tree

Oviedo, FL(Zone 9b)

I was shopping at a flea market in North Carolina and I found a man selling Washingtonia palm tree seedlings his wife had started. I bought one! Does anyone know if this will eventually turn into a giant tree? I will go look it up, but right now it's like a puppy, so cute because it is small. Is anyone growing Washingtonia on an indoor basis? It is residing with my other houseplants at the edge of the shade from a maple tree where it gets some sun during the day but not directly at noon. It has also been raining on it several times since I got back with it last Friday. I hope to keep it a long time.

Oh well, I suppose I will need a taller roof to my sunroom. my palm book says it could get to 50'. In my lifetime, I wonder?

Not sure how big they were when they were planted, but there are some that have been in the yard for 9 years, they would go about 20ft.

They grow fast in warm weather and half to full day sun.Water when dry..don't keep wet.

well we can cut the growth predictions in half then. This is New England! We only get about 5 months of relly warm weather. thanks for the advice!

Eclipse, is there something special I'm supposed to do with those scale things(the fork that's where the frond was growing) that are left when one prunes the dead fronds off?
